ANGEL STORE PAST AND CURRENT
Carmel Valley resident Dorothy McEwen founded the Carmel Valley Angel Project in about 1995, originally as a Holiday “Store” set up to provide toys, books, clothing, sleeping bags, blankets, school supplies, food and more for those who don’t have the resources to have a bountiful Christmas. CVAP was incorporated as a nonprofit in 2003. Over the years the store has change some, but the mission is the same. We are an all-volunteer organization.
If YOUR local family with children need some help to brighten your holidays, please see the sign up page at this link. Please encourage local friends and neighbors to apply if they are hesitant to apply.
In 2021, 60 families were able to receive extra help to make their holidays special for 161 children and teens. The generosity of our community is amazing. Donations provide for each child to receive a new jacket and a stuffed stocking. Gift cards are given to each family who can customize the gifts for their children. Another gift card is provided specifically for a holiday dinner, or another urgent need. Students at local schools collect stocking-stuffer items for elementary-aged children.
